What the Web can do for you

Here's a company that's starting to get it, but most importantly, when we walk in the doors, the people are happy. They're creating stuff together, no matter how cheesy, and having a great time doing this. Production is team work, everyone has their talents and ideas. Working on something outside work during work hours that actually helps the company is an awesome combination! Congrats to these folks over in Commercial Leasing for making this happen...I'm so excited for them, mostly to see the team smiling. We're considering doing creative productions for team building as a company, from a to z, everyone plays a role and we film the making of it, as it's own reality series....how awesome would that be??

Value People? What?

You mean companies are going to value people? The very "thing" that makes up an organization? Where do we get these rocket-scientists? K. Time for Apple & Google to do company speeches on how they engage their people to make the company happen.

Organizational Values As Primary Recruiting, Retention Tools

In relationships of every nature, including partnerships, joint ventures, service contracts and yes, marriage, the incidence of association failure can be traced in large part to the failure of the two parties to clearly understand, appreciate, and agree to mutual expectations upfront.

The key to a company’s success is a reciprocal, balanced level of expectations between the organization and each of its employees.

A San Fransisco Treat!

O.k., where I'm from Fruits & Nuts are not just the ingredients to your fave trail mix. They're Californian's, too.
So, like everyone else in Tejas, I believe this bologna.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but Cali's lifestyle and culture is why one can't live there unless you have a mil or two. So, who's in the tail-mix now, sista? Maybe there's some cashew's or what about some wal-nuts? So what that a 4K SF casa goes for 350 in h-town in a golf course community. One can't just prance around in their work-out gear sportin' a backpack and look ultra-cool!!

Try it, see what it gets you--or what it doesn't for that matter. Sparkly shirts & jeans? Too dressy for Cali...at least in the Silicon Valley, where all the money is. What an interesting paradigm? So, the money's there and people live their dream and they have beautiful weather, personalities and comfy clothing--makes me wonder what kind of fruit I should be....

Working for Fun

Isn't that what life's all about? Are you there yet? Of course there's always daily things that get in your way of doing EXACTLY what you want, right? But, we can have it all. It's possible. The key is doing what you love, while helping others. Whether you're entertaining, giving information/advising, volunteering or helping someone with their taxes, the act of giving is the fulfillment factor we all seek. The mindless work of paperwork is agonizing for me. The worst thing you could ever do is sit me in the room to make revisions and edits to documents. Working with paper. Not with people. This is the death of the productive worker, on occasion, for others it's where they find their own peace. Interesting concept to ponder!
